Glens Falls and Warren County Receive $240,000 Grant

City County to Share Grant

GLENS FALLS, NY (10/15/2012)(readMedia)-- Glens Falls Mayor Jack Diamond has thanked Governor Andrew Cuomo for the recently announced Local Efficiency grant award of nearly $240,000 from the Department of State local government program. Glens Falls and Warren County are very appreciative of the recognition by the Cuomo Administration of the City and County's efforts in this 911 communication consolidation by the Cuomo Administration.

The City of Glens Falls prepared and submitted this application(March 2012) on behalf of the City and Warren County for the " 911 Emergency Consolidation Project"

The grant funds will be applied to the city expenses totaling $50,000 -$55,000 and $185,000 -$190,000 is awarded to the County for their expenses and upgrade of equipment during this 911 emergency communication transition.

Mayor Diamond stated that "this consolidation of the communication center at Warren county is another example of municipal cooperation being undertaken by the County of Warren and City of Glens Falls. It is estimated that this consolidation will result in saving to the City of over $1.3 Million dollars during the first eight years."
