North County Region receives support from Senator Schumer

Schumer weighs in on regional issues

GLENS FALLS, NY (05/08/2013)(readMedia)-- Glens Falls Mayor and Adirondack Gateway Council (AGC) Chair publicly thanked Senator Charles Schumer for his efforts in two significant issues facing this region:

Brownfield contaminated properties –rendering properties unusable in many areas and the negative effect on our region's economy as result of the Asian clam infestation in Lake George.

The twin announcement By Senator Schumer -- $600,000 grant to the AGC for EPA risk assessments and the commitment of seeking federal funds to assist in the eradication of Asian clams illustrates in both cases that Senator Schumer delivers!

Diamond indicated while meeting with Senator Schumer at the Warren County Airport in early April he raised these regional issues including the need for assistance with the Asian Clams and indicating the value of this EPA grant which will assist in putting property back on the tax rolls following these cleanup measures.

Diamond states the responsiveness of the Senator and his staff to issues within our region is greatly appreciated .
