Glens Falls Supports Capital Region Economic Council

City Recipient of Funding

GLENS FALLS, NY (12/08/2011)(readMedia)-- Glens Falls Mayor Jack Diamond applauded the efforts of Governor Cuomo in undertaking the regional economic devlopment approach through the regional councils.

While the Capital Region Economic Development Council was not awarded the one of the four best awards within the 10 councils, nonetheless funding was received by this region .

Mayor Diamond indicated the City was successful in obtaining funding over $100,000 for the redevelopment plan for Pruyn's Island with connector to the downtown area and funding for assistance for emergency repairs for senior citizens

Mayor noted that that the City continues to be successful with funding opportunities and implementation during this past year with over $1.7 Million Dollars investment

City and the Adirondack Gateway l Council recipients of a $750,000 from the federal government (HUD) l

USDA grant which is establishing a Loan portfolio of $250,000

Community Entitlement Grant & Challenge grant implementation of $600,000
